These are all examples of an altered state of awareness that we all go into throughout our day. It is a state of focused attention which is harnessed during hypnotherapy to allow the mind to focus on and be more receptive to beneficial suggestion and positive change. Contrary to what many people believe, you are completely in control during trance, and in fact your sense of awareness is actually heightened.
No one can make you do something you are not comfortable with and your subconscious mind will only accept suggestion that is beneficial and helpful to you. You cannot be hypnotised against your will and it is important to recognise that you remain in control, simply allowing yourself to be guided through this therapeutic process, to help you achieve your goals and realise the future you aspire to.
